LOCAL SECURITY ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES 2007 OFFICERS
The Flint, Michigan Chapter of The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) today announced the election of the chapter officers for 2007. The chapter officers for the year will be:
Chapter Chair – James Benford of Kettering University
Chapter Vice Chair – Joseph Cozart of Teachout Security Services
Chapter Treasurer – Allen Streu, retired from NBD
Secretary – Daniel Smith of Ellis Parking Company
The Flint Chapter of ASIS International was formed in 1982 and is celebrating their 25th anniversary. The local chapter is comprised of security and law enforcement professionals in the greater Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, and North Oakland County areas.
The primary objective of ASIS International is to promote professionalism and education in the field of security management. ASIS International has over 40,000 members worldwide. Additional information on ASIS International may be found at the chapter’s website – www.asisflint.org.

LOCAL SECURITY ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES 2007 SCHOOL SECURITY GRANT AWARDS
The Flint, Michigan Chapter of The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) today announced the continuation of the annual School Security Grant Award Program.
The intent of this grant is to provide five (5) individual $500.00 awards to any public or private K-12 school within Genesee County for the physical security of their specific building. Each individual grant will be used to add or enhance the physical security of the school building. Schools are eligible for only one grant award per year and each school must apply individually for an award.
Grant applications will be available starting February 1, 2007. The deadline for application submission is March 23, 2007.
